Wheatland Realty Agent Nicole Tudisco shares a few words of wisdom and some advice on reasons for not waiting to sell your home.
A lot of sellers are still wondering if now is the right time to put their house up for sale. After the winter we’ve had or frankly are continuing to have, who can blame them! Here are several reasons to sell your home sooner rather than later.
1. Serious Buyers Are Out Shopping
The housing market is the hottest from April till June. We have seen in recent weeks buyers have decided to enter the market and move on with their life instead of waiting on the weather to cooperate. These are the serious lookers that you want rather than the tire kickers.
2. Less Competition
The supply of housing will grow in the next few months which means more competition for you because the buyers will have more selection. Don’t wait and let your neighbors’ homes go up for sale before yours.
3. Quicker Loan Process
There have been many new rules for banks in recent years which means a lot more paperwork for them and the buyer. As the market picks up the lenders will be more inundated with loans and inquiries which will add to the closing timelines.
4. Never a Better Time To Move Up
Home values are expected to appreciate over 19% from now until 2018. Interest rates are also expected to climb to well over 5% by this time next year. If you are in the market for a bigger home waiting could end up costing you more in raw dollars between both the down payment and mortgage if you wait.
5. Residential Real Estate Is Personal
If it were all about numbers, moving our homes would be easier. Unfortunately, it’s not, it’s about lifestyle, family and friends. What is the reason you’re considering selling and how does that weigh against waiting and the money factor?
There is a Buddha quote I have always appreciated…“The trouble is, you think you have time”. I hold that one close to my thoughts in everything I do. Has the time come for you and your family to move closer to the life you desire? They say there is no time like the present. Make it a great week!
